A studio photograph may conceal movement limitations, so avoid drawing firm conclusions from its appearance alone. Check whether different color options use the same listed fabric before expecting identical drape.
Consider the shorter front section when assessing seated coverage. Check that the waistband sits at its intended height first.
Consider whether tights or leggings will be part of the outfit, as they may influence your preferred amount of coverage. If you plan to shorten the skirt, check whether a border print, trim, or special hem finish would complicate the alteration.
Textile Conservation Assistant: Jeremy King
Light exposure needs a written record. The practical side of the role ranges from packing dresses for storage to making padded supports for gowns. Trained in textile conservation, with most of the early learning coming from sample reviews and customer appointments. The past 17 years have centered on dresses and skirts rather than a broad clothing range. Checks who will use the finished work before deciding how much documentation it needs.
The lining can be the first layer to restrict the hips. Check it while seated. Look for pulling across the inner skirt. Assess the overall fit with ordinary steps. Check the hem after standing. Add normal pocket contents for a second practical check.
Sitting can make a comfortable standing fit feel closer. Check the lining separately.
A comfortable fit does not require forcing the body into a mirrored pose. Check both sides in the same relaxed stance.
